Creative Tourism Activity: Georgia O'Keeffe Experience
Georgia O'Keeffe Museum
www.okeeffemuseum.org
Led by Maggie Muchmore
Pastel workshop
There may be nothing more endemic to Santa Fe than art. The place seems to inspire the artist in everyone while everyone seems to be inspired by the art of the place. Georgia O'Keeffe is one of the defining artists of her time and has been inextricably linked with New Mexico through her work; most effectively displayed and chronicled at the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum.
Pastel, watercolor and journal-making workshops will be held by the museum, as you are lead to an awareness of the inherent beauty, both physically and emotionally, of Santa Fe's remarkable setting and helped to create a representation of the experience.
Wednesday, October 1st
2 Hour Workshop from 10:00am-12:00pm
Participants-12 maximum
Location: O'Keeffe Museum Education Annex
Pastel Landscapes
Led by Maggie Muchmore, visual artist and Art and Leadership for Women instructor
This is a rare opportunity to receive instruction from artist Maggie Muchmore who has a national reputation for her pastel depictions of Santa Fe’s desert environment. After viewing a few of her phenomenal, original pieces, the artist will instruct you in pastel techniques and guide you in creating your own landscape. Bring a photograph from which to work.
