Travel Journals
There may be nothing more endemic to Santa Fe than art. The place seems to inspire the artist in everyone while everyone seems to be inspired by the art of the place. Georgia O'Keeffe is one of the defining artists of her time and has been inextricably linked with New Mexico through her work; most effectively displayed and chronicled at the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum.
Pastel, watercolor and journal-making workshops will be held by the museum, as you are lead to an awareness of the inherent beauty, both physically and emotionally, of Santa Fe's remarkable setting and helped to create a representation of the experience.
Thursday, October 2nd
3 Hour Workshop from 1:30-4:45pm
(with a 15-minute break)

Creating Travel Journals
Led by Lisa de St. Croix, visual artist and arts educator
Traveling removes us from our everyday lives. How we long to bring back snippets of that time away. Most people resort to photos or videos, but an art journal of a trip is not just a memory book but also a chance to delve deeper into the experience. By collecting ephemera as one travels such as: stamps, ticket stubs, postcards, bits of colorful paper, even pieces of newspaper and using them along with a diary entry we can create an exciting and vivid journal.
