*The work is physical. Participants should come prepared to move with loose clothing, jewelry removed and hair back. We work barefoot.

Physical Theater Workshop
Physical performance can transcend culture and language barriers by seeking a shared emotion, humor, and a celebration of humanity. Members of the Theater Grottesco ensemble will guide workshop participants through a series of exercises exploring tenants of this form: rhythm, energy, stillness, sound, and team work.
Theater Grottesco is a national touring company formed in Paris in 1983 out of the renowned Ecole Jacques Lecoq. The Company creates “theatrical events” weaving classical theatrical styles into unique modern plays. They have won awards in Paris and throughout the United States. "Grottesco" in Italian means: absurd, splendid, jubilant.
