Writing Workshop

Share in Santa Fe’s creative heritage with programs to take your writing to the next level.  Study in the shadow of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, the environment that inspired Willa Cather, suspense master (and the creator of Rambo) David Morrell and many others.  WORDHARVEST’s workshops welcome writers of all abilities.  Improve your craft and nuture your muse in classes with published writers who love to teach.

Author Lesley King will teach a hands-on writing workshop to help participants learn to better describe their own community’s attributes and encourage tourism.  The program will talk about the importance of sensory details and sense of place in writing, allowing participants to work on a piece for a brochure, press release or website.  A Native New Mexican, Lesley S. King is author of many travel guidebooks including Frommer’s New Mexico and New Mexico for Dummies.  Her articles have appeared in The New York Times, Audubon Magazine, United Airlines Hemispheres magazine, and La Vie Claire, and she pens a monthly travel column in New Mexico Magazine.  She is also author of King of the Road, a book of travel essays, and The Santa Fe Farmers’ Market Cookbook due out in summer 2009.
