We are located on the beautiful, historic Turquoise Trail, a national scenic byway that runs from Santa Fe to Albuquerque. The Turquoise Trail includes the old mining town of Madrid, which is abundant in artists and crafters, quaint shops and restaurants.
Pottery and ceramic arts are New Mexican traditions, especially in Santa Fe and the surrounding area. Aspects of Clay allows people of all backgrounds, (local residents and tourists, young and old, with and without clay knowledge) to experience the tactile and visual beauty of clay. Clay has a permanence that reminds us of the pottery shards and pots from our Native ancestors. What a better way to experience New Mexico and the Santa Fe area than to create your own amazing piece of pottery or clay art as a keepsake! We strive to teach all the "aspects of clay" to anyone who has enthusiasm for learning.
Our workshops and classes are open to the public, and vary from month to month. Paint-your-own-pottery is open to walk-ins during opening hours or by appointment. If our classes and workshops dont fit into your schedule, we happily teach private lessons or offer parties (for any number of people) with a reservation. All items that cannot be completed in one day can be shipped anywhere in the US.
We are now sharing a property with "The Old Schoolhouse Gallery" which offers pottery, paintings, bronze, photography and more, all crafted by local artists.
We hope you will come down and have an AMAZING CLAY EXPERIENCE with us, and a CREATIVE, MEMORABLE TRIP TO SANTA FE, the art capitol of the southwest.
We also host art shows/ fairs twice per year, along the turquoise trail. We are members of the Turquoise Trail Association, and NM potters and Clay artists.
Offerings change frequently, please let us know the dates you will be visiting and we will let you know what is on the schedule.

My studio is in an adobe house on 4 acres with views of the Cerrillos Hills. I specialize in handpainting colorful pottery with underglazes–with whimsical cats, birds, pigs, cowgirls and more. There's a small kiln and slab roller, and I make pottery by shaping slabs of earthenware...on dinnerware.
Lesson possibilities include: Making and painting press-mold plates with underglazes; Painting commercial tiles and bisque with underglazes; Christmas ornaments; or creating a personalized hanging birdfeeder.
Workshops can be tailored to your time constraints, they can be for a few days, or for as little as two hours. I'll be there to assist the entire time, and most supplies and firings are included.
