website is linked with national sites, and we have had visitors from abroad as well as diverse areas of the United States. Our dancers are amateurs. Most of our dances do not require a partner (are line dances), with some couple dances and mixers for variety. They originate in New Mexico, the Balkans, Europe, Greece, the Middle and Far East. Dancers of all levels are welcome. On Tuesdays, volunteers provide instruction from 7 to 8 pm and general dancing follows. Sundays are oriented toward beginners, with instruction the entire time.

lessons emphasize a classical approach, including the Bel Canto technique. Singers are encouraged to learn and utilize classical principles and a structured repertoire. A strong foundation and correct technique get pronounced results!
While a classical approach is our specialty, Studio di Bel Canto offers programs and lessons in many styles and for all ages. Our Expressive Singing Workshops are designed for singers, (choral singers in particular), to refine their skills and improve their choral ensemble - not to mention enhancing their enjoyment of the whole experience.
Charlotte Sandelin, Program Director and mezzo soprano, is a specialist in music education. Charlotte has performed solo and chorister parts with the Collegium Musicum, (Santa Fe), the Chorus of Santa Fe, the NAU Oratorio Chorus, the Flagstaff Master Chorale and Symphony Orchestra, and the Santa Fe Symphony Chorus.
Charlotte has been active in New Mexico arts and music organizations since the 70's. Her understanding of local musicians, and their needs, inspired the creation of the Studio.
We're proud to have Monika Cosson-Sheppard serving as our Artistic Director, and as an active teacher. Monika, also a mezzo soprano, has performed as a featured concert artist with professional companies nationwide, and here in New Mexico - - The Santa Fe Desert Choral, Polyphony, Voices of New Mexico, the Sangre De Cristo Choral, Canticum Novum, the Santa Fe Men's Camerata, and the Santa Fe Opera.
Her extensive professional background, together with her remarkable singing talent, provide students a direct, personal, and inspiring experience!
Studio di Bel Canto was also created in response to the practical needs of local musicians and performers. Since private lessons can be expensive, the Studio offers semi-private and small group programs that are both affordable and effective.
