Tour Reservation Instructions

In order to RSVP for conference events, or to register for one of the excursions below, you will need to add them in your control panel. If you do not yet have a control panel login, please register for the conference. If you don’t have internet access please contact Royal Road Tours directly at 505-982-4512.

You should have registered all companions before registering for events and excursions.
These events are not included in the conference registration and have separate fees.

Downtown Santa Fe Walking Tour – Daily, 2 hours

Explore the historic plaza of Santa Fe, laid out in 1607 and still the heart of Santa Fe. Surrounded by the Place of the Governors and St Francis cathedral, this plan developed for the “new” world, is found in all cities founded by Spain. Walk past art galleries, Indian vendors, and examine an architectural style called Santa Fe. This is 2 hours and stays in the plaza area.

Departure Date/Time: Daily, September 28th - October 2nd, 1:30 PM
Includes: guide and 4-day museum pass.

Abiquiu/O’Keeffe Country – Sunday, September 28th, 6 hours, full day

The spectacular rock formations of the area inspired O’Keeffe’s work and is sure to inspire participants on this tour as well. We will also visit Ghost Ranch, which includes a small archaeology museum, and a working paleontology laboratory studying the remains of dinosaur bones scattered throughout the surrounding canyons.

Departure Date/Time: 09/28/2006, 10:30 AM. The tour starts immediately following the Welcome Breakfast
Includes: guide, bus, O'Keeffe Foundation's Home and Studio tour, driving tour to Ghost Ranch, lunch at the Abiquiu Inn.

Taos – Saturday, September 27th, 8 hours, full day

Taos is a beautiful community located an hour north of Santa Fe. We will take in Taos Pueblo, a continuously occupied pueblo for more than 1,000 years. The Pueblo comprises a group of stacked adobe rooms and ceremonial centers representative of a cultural model derived from traditions of the prehistoric Indian tribes.

Also visit the Millicent Rogers museum housing extensive collections of Pueblo and Navajo jewelry, as well as traditional New Mexico Spanish arts.

Bandelier/Los Alamos – Friday, October 3rd, 5 hours, full day

Bandelier National Monument is located in Frijoles Canyon in the Jemez Mountains. This archaeological site in a deep canyon contains the remains of an ancient Indian pueblo with walking trails through the ancient village. In addition, we will stop in Los Alamos, the site of Los Alamos National Laboratory, to visit the Bradbury Museum and Los Alamos historical museum for a taste of the scientific activities and accomplishments that occurred in this remote mountain setting from the 1940’s onward.

RESPONSIBILITY

Recursos – Royal Road Tours (its owners, outfitters, agents, and employees) give notice that they act only as the agent for the owners, contractors, and suppliers providing travel services and accommodations, and assume no responsibility or liability for injury, loss or damage to person or property in connection with any service resulting directly or indirectly from any defect in any vehicle, or through neglect or default of any company or person engaged in carrying out the tour or other purpose. In the event it becomes necessary or advisable for the comfort or well being of the passengers, for any reasons whatsoever, to alter the itinerary or arrangements, such alterations may be made without penalty to the tour operators. Additional expenses, if any, shall be borne by the passengers. Also, the operators are not responsible for strikes; thefts; medical problems encountered before, during or after the trip; force majeure, failure of any means of conveyance to arrive or depart as scheduled; civil disturbances; acts of terrorism; government restrictions or regulations; discrepancies or changes in transit or hotel and other services (including prepaid single rooms not available upon arrival) over which it has no control. Baggage is at owner's risk at all times.

CERTIFICATION

I have read and understand all the literature describing the program and am aware that no travel is without risk. In the event of illness or accident, I understand that RECURSOS - ROYAL ROAD TOURS, INC. (R-RRT) will make every effort to reach the person listed under "emergency contact," but I give my permission for emergency medical treatment as required if such notification is impossible or impractical under the circumstances. I understand R-RRT will make every effort to minimize the risks inherent, but that R - RRT cannot guarantee against circumstances over which it has little or no control. I agree that upon advancement of deposit to R - RRT I will be bound to the conditions and terms recited above, and agree that R - RRT will not be held responsible for accidental injury, death, or other damage to anyone arising out of activities related to this trip, and I hereby agree to reimburse R - RRT or any agent thereof fully for any costs or loss to them resulting from such occurrence not covered by insurance. I agree that any disagreements will be settled in the county of Santa Fe, State of New Mexico, where R - RRT is located. I have read and accept the above conditions and would like to reserve my space on the trip. I understand that if I should not be able to complete the tour for any reason that R - RRT will not reimburse any fees, and that trip cancellation insurance is strongly advised.

Upon agreement below, you authorize Recursos - Royal Road Tours, Inc. to charge the cost of the tour services ordered by the undersigned on any and all card numbers presented, either in writing or verbally, from this date forward. Such purchases may be made without inserting the signature of the undersigned on the credit card charge form or other similar documents accepted by the issuer of said credit card.
