The Santa Fe International Conference on Creative Tourism will bring together participants from around the world to exchange the latest ideas and practices on the development of creative tourism and its impact on our local economies locally and globally. The conference will provide a forum for leaders and artists from creative towns and cities to share ideas and actively participate in creative tourism opportunities. The conference will also provide a setting for the founding UNESCO Creative Cites to share ideas and help growing towns and cities around the globe flourish, by cultivating and maintaining their own creative industries.
Creative tourism is travel directed toward an engaged and authentic experience, with participative learning in the arts, heritage, or special character of a place, and it provides a connection with those who reside in this place and create this living culture.
Founding members of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network include Montreal, Edinburgh, Seville, Berlin, Bologna, Aswan, Popayan, Santa Fe and Buenos Aires.
